Not everything I eat is good. This is one thing that was with out a doubt terrible. I had two bites to confirm, and the second was just as bad as the first. Morbier cheese is a French cheese in this case made with unpasteurized cows milk. The smell is of dirty feet, and the taste is of rancid meat. Got it to go with a French wine I was having, but would probably pair better with a dog shit milk shake.

I found the taste to be surprisingly mild and creamy. It is pretty good melted on toast.
I just opened it. Tried it. Threw it out. My wife is a physician and said that it smelled exactly like some of the super obese people she takes care of who aren't able to reach in areas that need to be cleaned often. It tastes exactly like it smells. Absolutely freakin' awful.
ReplyDeleteI just has it and, YES, it definitely smells like ass, no question about it. It has the same exact smell as when you wipe your ass and smell the toilet paper afterwards.
ReplyDeleteIt left me wondering whether the cheese was good or not, and then I decided to do some research on the web and that is how I got to this page.
But when you eat it is not that bad, it does not taste like it smells but it does leave a slightly unpleasant bitter aftertaste. No I would not buy it again but I definitely would not trow it out.
I'm currently in France and just had dinner in a Michelin star restaurant. I asked for some cheese after the meal and I was given a piece of Morbier.
ReplyDeleteI'd never heard of it before but I can guarantee I'll never forget it!! I seriously thought I'd trod in dog turd and I checked my boots. I sussed out it was the cheese and I felt like wretching the smell was that bad.
I had to move my plate away. More to the point though; a) Who invented it and when they had done so thought it was a good idea taste something that smells that bad! b) How can it still be in production.....clearly alot of people must buy it who have a penchant for ass licking!!
