Stone

Stone makes some excellent beers. Probably more well known for their
IPA's, but I like the Pale Ale better. Their IPA like most are is a
little too hopped up. The Pale Ale is a much better balance. If you
are in San Diego definately stop by the brewery, they have some great
food in addition to the 20+ brews they make.

Lion Stout

Sri Lankan beer. Great smooth stout that's not too heavy.

Imperial Koi

Great sushi spot in Greensboro off New Garden. Had a cuumber tuna roll
that was 2nd best I've had. Some of the house rolls seemed a bit too
creative, but the others were great.

Dulce de Leche

Yes, the cup is made out of chocolate. This is a little desert from an Argentinian deli in Miami. The deli has about 20 different types of desserts like this made with dulce de leche and different types of pastries. Dulce de Leche is made from sweetened condensed milk, and basically tastes like a light smooth caramel.

Carchelo 08

Nice light Spanish wine. 40% Monastrell, 40% Tempranillo, 20% Cab.

Nordstrom's Bistro

One of my favorite spots in Miami. Sandwich is great, but the real
stars here are the bistro fries and aioli. This one is made with
calamata olives and lots of roast garlic. Highly recommend the bistro
if you find yourself in a Nordstrom anytime soon.

Bandeja Paisa

I love Columbian food, one thing for sure is you don't leave hungry. A fried egg on top of the rice is pretty good too. Best is the fried pork skin though. My dinner included the following:

Rice w/a fried egg on top
Beans
Fried pork skin
Fried plantain
Sausage
Steak
Corn cake

Drinking some Venezuelan beer, stay tuned for a giant plate of food.

Winestyles

Wine for the night. This is a great fruity Cabernet that is almost
over the top which I love.

Charlotte airport

Not every meal is a gourmet feast. These however are the best fries in the Charlotte airport. They can be found at the Carolina Sports Bar in terminal C. They are good enough to rival the Crab fries from Chickie & Pete's in Philly. Also excellent without cheese, but seriously if they have it why wouldn't you get the cheese.

Mango Martinis

Mango Martinis with sushi in South Beach. Pictures aren't too great but you get the point. This is one of my favorite sushi spots in Miami, Soji Sushi which is on Collins and 1st. For sushi I had one roll with conch and one with hamachi. Both were really good, but the conch is a bit chewy and rubbery for my taste.

Cuban coffee

Another perk of Miami; Cuban coffee. This is basically expresso with lots of sugar. When it's being made, a few drops of the expresso are poured over the sugar and stirred until a paste forms. Once the rest of the expresso is poured in, this creates the foam on the top known as espumita.

China Grill

If you have the chance to go to China Grill in Miami or another city, and someone else is paying please go. The food is very Americanised Chinese food. Probably so much so that I wouldn't really look at it as Chinese food, but just good food. See below for what we had. Best by far is the calamari salad, chicken and avocado fried rice. I love it when both meat dishes you get are marinated in sake, you know it's going to be good. The avocados were chunks that had been in cold lime juice and go great with fried rice. Desert was the ice cream cake pictures which is covered in marsh mellow cream that is roasted around the cake.

Crackling calamari salad with lime miso dressing
Sake marinated “drunken” chicken with ponzu sauce
Grilled Szechuan beef in sake, soy, spicy shallots & cilantro
Avocado fried rice
Spicy long beans

Cuban food in Miami

Forgot how much I love the food here, this stuff is awesome. Last night had what I think is some of the best roast pork at the Cuban restaurant Little Havana. This pork is dripping in grease, and has a little vinegar on it but the taste kills any other. I'm talking good enough to tempt a Muslim vegan. As with any other Cuban food it came with rice, black beans and plantains which gave me a nice case of lead belly after I crammed them all down. After adding in a few carafes of Mojitos, this was perfect welcome back to Miami meal.
